New viticulture Program is being developed in collaboration between MBO Aeres

Aeres is working on setting up a professional viticulture training program. They aim to start in September 2026 with a course focused on grape growing, including practical modules such as vineyard management and vinification (wine production), specifically aimed at professionals in the sector. An MBO-level (vocational) viticulture programme is being developed in cooperation with Wine Promotions

Role of Wine Promotions

Wine Promotions is a partner of WTOL Academy a provider that already offers courses in wine, wine knowledge, sommelier/vinologist programmes and hospitality education, but until now has mainly focused on courses such as SVH wine and vinology programmes.

What you can expect

• The new programme will initially focus on (semi) professionals and hands-on practitioners in viticulture, rather than young full-time students.
  
• The initiative is being seriously developed thanks to funding from Regio Foodvalley.
  
• Later, the program may be expanded into a formal vocational qualification leading to a MBO diploma, with viticulture as a specialization alongside other crop-based studies.
